Joanne Blain is a Vancouver-based freelance writer and editor with more than 20 years of experience in major newspapers and magazines.

Her work has appeared in publications such as The New York Times, The International Herald Tribune, The National, The Globe and Mail, The Vancouver Sun, The Calgary Herald, More magazine and Elle Canada magazine.

Joanne was on staff for more than 20 years as a writer and editor at the Vancouver Sun, and she has also worked as an editor at the International Herald Tribune in their newsrooms in Paris and Hong Kong.

She is a board member of the Travel Media Association of Canada and she won its 2008 award for best service feature for a story in The Vancouver Sun.
